Pregnancy
Pregnancy is often an exciting time, but there can also be moments of anxiety or concern. I aim to provide the best care possible for you and your baby, to ensure a healthy pregnancy, safe delivery and a healthy baby. I deliver babies privately at Mitcham Private Hospital.
My services include
Antenatal care which will be tailored to your individual needs
High-risk pregnancy care including twins, placenta praevia, vaginal birth after Caesarean section, preterm birth and recurrent miscarriages
Cervical cerclage
External cephalic version (turning a breech baby)
Labour and delivery
Caesarean section
Obstetric visits
Your first Obstetrician visit will be a detailed appointment understanding your pregnancy so far and your general health. An ultrasound will be performed at this visit to see and hear your baby’s heart beat. Your pregnancy care will be discussed with you, including nutrition, genetic screening, ultrasound scans and vaccinations.
Your subsequent Obstetrician visits will be tailored to your needs, but they’ll usually be scheduled every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, and then weekly.
Midwife visits
In addition to your Obstetrician visits, the practice offers midwife appointments at 15, 25 and 35 weeks. These appointments are highly recommended if this is your first pregnancy. You can meet with midwives Kathy and Clara who can guide you through how to prepare for labour and care for your newborn baby.
